WSCP Is Changing... but staying true to our roots!
We are celebrating our 45th year as a preschool this year. Over those years we have stayed true to our co-operative model. Families are the heart of our preschool. Our parents run our preschool, participating in the classroom, serving on committee and attending meetings to support the running of the preschool. Some things have changed over the years, including being designated as an Early Learning Center last year by the Province of New Brunswick. We're proud of what WSCP families have created over the past 45 years! This year, we have been making some changes to better support our families! If you are interested in joining WSCP, but parts of our model have been difficult for your family (like in-class participation), let's talk! Let's work together to find a way for you to be involved in your child's first formal education experience away from home!

Stay tuned for more exciting updates!

Welcome to the online home of the West Side Co-Op Preschool.  Operating since 1974, we are an affordable, self-supporting, non-profit organization. We are provincially licensed, with full gym facilities, field trips and a skating program.

The West Side Co-Op Preschool is maintained and administered by the parents of the enrolled children. Qualified teaching staff are employed to guide the educational program. The young child is the focal point of our school. The cornerstone of our philosophy is to accept all children as individuals and to help them develop and grow at their own rate and in all areas: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. We subscribe to the idea that play is learning for the 2 to 5 year old and that play is truly the "work" of the young child.

Classes and Programs: Programs are offered at three different age levels.

  • Toddler: One morning per week - Ages 18 mos to 2 years
  • Two Day: Two mornings per week - Ages 3 - 4
  • Three Day: Three mornings per week - Ages 4 - 5
